  Check your Coding Notices

I find that many employees do not check their coding notices. If returns have not been completed and sent back, the Revenue will withdraw allowances such as the Married Couple's Allowance or Additional Personal Allowance. They may even reduce the allowances by "coding out" estimated income. Always check your coding notices and if you establish that the Revenue have acted in this way, get copies of the coding notices for every year in date and claim the allowances for all relevant years, together with the appropriate supplement.
