About the author

I joined HM Revenue & Customs in 1958 as a basic Clerical Assistant and left in 1984 as a Senior Inspector of Taxes in charge of Leicester 3. Since leaving the Department, I have been a freelance Tax Consultant specialising in tax planning and investigations. In 1996 I set up Mr Tax and this is now being franchised under the name Tax 4 self employed.
